Understanding our structure, membership, and governance framework.
WENDA operates as a membership-based regional association with a three-tier governance structure that ensures inclusive decision-making and effective coordination across West Nile.
The supreme decision-making body comprising representatives from all member local governments, civil society organizations, and private sector entities. The General Assembly meets annually to set strategic direction, approve budgets, and elect executive committee members.
The Executive Committee oversees day-to-day operations and implements decisions made by the General Assembly. It comprises the Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary General, Treasurer, and representatives from each district. The committee meets quarterly to review progress and coordinate regional initiatives.
The Secretariat, based in Arua, provides technical and administrative support to WENDA. Led by the Secretary General, it coordinates program implementation, manages partnerships, facilitates member engagement, and ensures accountability in resource utilization.
