Sustainable Development
We support tree planting initiatives and forest conservation efforts across the region. Our programs focus on protecting indigenous tree species, establishing community woodlots, and promoting sustainable forest management practices that balance environmental protection with community livelihood needs.
Water is a critical resource in West Nile. We advocate for sustainable water management practices, support the protection of wetlands and water catchment areas, and promote community-led water conservation initiatives. Our programs include training on rainwater harvesting and efficient water use.
WENDA works to raise awareness about climate change impacts and advocate for climate-responsive policies at regional and national levels. We engage with policymakers to ensure that climate considerations are integrated into development planning and budgeting processes.
We promote sustainable waste management practices in urban and rural areas, supporting initiatives for waste reduction, recycling, and proper disposal. Our programs work with local governments to develop effective waste management systems that protect both the environment and public health.
